A grove of this member of the ginger family grew in my yard in Kona. The flower grows to 8” wide. The petals are waxy and shiney and sit on a naked stalk 3' to 5' high.
The flower with its citrusy flavor and can be sliced into a stir-fried curry dish or eaten raw in salads.
The leaves grow on tall stalks that are 12 to 15 feet high!
