This bamboo grove, the subject matter for "Zen Bamboo", exuded a mystery that I wanted to capture. It was dense and dark and there was a stillness...as if it knew something I didn't.
 
The bamboo is very smooth, an orangey-yellow color with beautiful dark green stripes.
 
I wondered what critters lived in dark recesses. Maybe mongoose? Mongeese?
