ABOUT SONOMA ROSES
 
I was driving north through Sonoma Valley one sunny day and spied a mass of color in front of a roadside stand up ahead. Bunches of vibrant roses drew me in and I pulled over. First thought was, "I must paint these" and, fast forward....voila! 
 
I grew up with roses...my father raised them and my grandmother as well. She grew a variety called Sterling. They were a silvery lavender in color. I thought they were magical.
